The coach

DaShaun
Miller.

Founder of Sado's Elite Fitness in Brundidge, Alabama. Coach for the early risers, the late nighters, the parents running on coffee and conviction, and anyone who's tired of being told they have to choose between their life and their body.

Origin

Before the gym was a job.

I grew up in southeast Alabama, in a town where the work ethic is louder than the music. You don't talk about effort here — you show it. By the time I was old enough to sign my own waiver, the weight room had already become the one place that gave back exactly what I put in.

Coaching wasn't a plan. It was a side effect. People started asking me what I was doing in the corner of the gym, then asking me to write it down, then asking me to come watch their reps. I said yes enough times that eventually it had a name.

The decision

The day I stopped calling it a hobby.

There was a specific session — a client who'd been told for years that what she wanted with her body wasn't realistic at her age, with her schedule, with her history. Twelve weeks in, she finished a set she didn't think she had in her, racked the bar, and said one sentence I'll never forget: “I didn't know I was allowed to be this strong.”

That was the line. I was no longer playing at this. Sado's Elite became a real thing the next morning.

The standard

Communication. Consistency. Confidence.

Three words I repeat to every client until they repeat them back. Communication means I answer when you reach out and you tell me the truth when I check in. Consistency means we show up on the days when we don't feel like it — those are the only ones that count. Confidence is the byproduct: build the first two long enough and you stop needing to be told you're doing it right. You know.

That's the entire program. The exercises change. The standard doesn't.

What I tell clients

“You're more than a client.
You're family.”

The line

What Sado's Elite refuses to do.

  • ×Sell crash diets. If it can't last a year, it isn't a plan — it's a punishment.
  • ×Train you for someone else's mirror. Your body, your goals, your timeline.
  • ×Treat soreness as a scoreboard. Suffering isn't proof of progress.
  • ×Hide behind jargon. If I can't explain why we're doing it, we're not doing it.
  • ×Coach scared. Intensity without intention is just noise.

The timeline

How the standard was built.
